The famous Full Moon Party is most important of the local events on Koh Phangan. In average 8.000 party-goers visiting to the island each month if only to enjoy the Fullmoon Party. Lying around 12 miles from the northern side of Samui in the Gulf of Siam is the island of Koh Phangan. The Island is much quieter and laid back than Koh Samui, with the exception of the full moon beach party where around 5 - 10,000 visitors come on the island for the infamous full moon party on the east side beach of Haad Rin There are concrete roads to Haad Rin, but we have warned you that the roads are not in the best condition and unless you are a confident motorcycle driver then don't try to get to HaadRin, as most accidents involving motorcycles happen in this area. Our advice is to leave your motorbike at the 7/11 at BaanTai and pay about 50 Baht for a taxi over the hills to HaadRin. For some of you who find Samui too costly or too much like a big city with not much nature left, Kohpangan is the perfect place to chill & relax in Southern Thailand.
